About Breda O'Flaherty

Breda O'Flaherty Studio is a dream come true. I've been an artist all my life; It all started in the front living room of my childhood home, drawing album covers while listening to music. Over time taking classes to build my skills as a painter and then graduating with a degree in interior design in 2014

My work looks to Ireland of the past but is rooted in the modern day. What do I mean by that? My pastel work focuses on the derelict buildings of humble origins — how they stand today, some crumbling, some restored. From cottages set in rural landscapes, and the quiet beauty of nature, each piece tells a story of place, time, and resilience. 

I also work with acrylics on canvas and mixed media.  My collections represent my passion.  Each has work that embodies colour, nature, and a little bit of Ireland. 

 I hope my work brings you as much joy as it brings me to create it.

Some highlights from 2025

November 2025:  I held my first solo Exhibition of my work Echoes of the Past 

September 2025: With help from the Local Enterprise Office I attended the National Ploughing Competition in Co Offaly. 

August 2025 - Appeared on Ireland AM promoting my work and the Local Enterprise Office 

March 2025 I was awarded the Emerging Artist Funding from Cavan Arts
